University of Applied Sciences Bingen

The Rhineland-Palatinate centre for energy conservation and renewables (RREN) and the centre for innovative information systems (IIS) are based at the University of Applied Sciences Bingen. Courses range from traditional engineering degrees and information and communication technology right through to a wide variety of natural and biological sciences. Quality studies also call for applied research and an approach to learning which bears relation to the real world. The University of Applied Sciences has a strong position in this respect and the relevant expertise to transfer technology to private enterprise. Centres of excellence at the University of Applied Sciences Bingen

The Rhineland-Palatinate centre for energy conservation and renewables (RREN) and the centre for innovative information systems (IIS) are based at the University of Applied Sciences Bingen. The work of the RREN revolves around the conservation of resources and the efficient use of energy in decentralised systems. The centre has input from professors from the University of Applied Sciences and the Bingen transfer centre (TSB) and from external energy service providers and partners from industry. The centre for innovative information systems (IIS) designs and develops innovative information technology applications, especially for data communication and workflow systems. The focal points of its work are regional information technology applications and systems for agriculture.


ITB - TSB

The University of Applied Sciences Bingen works closely with the Institut für Innovation, Transfer und Beratung GmbH (ITB) innovation and transfer consultancy in Bingen and the Bingen transfer centre (TSB). The TSB has an advisory and educational brief, as assigned by the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, and contributes to the use of renewable sources of energy in local authorities, industry, SMEs and private households. The ITB fosters links with the Universities of Applied Sciences in Bingen, Mainz and Worms, providing services which encourage the transfer of knowledge from the faculties to commerce and industry.
